Parks: Annuals have been planted at all park beds and islands and are looking good.  Beaverdale – a large tree is down near north border and 2 other large trees have recently been cut down near the restroom, Nancy notified Park & Rec

Trees: Memorial trees are being watered by families, Nancy notified forestry about storm damaged tree in median near 44th. A small tree has been added to the median nearby.  Dan Just is now our contact in City Forestry..

Memorial Tree Walk: About 18 people participated in the tree walk with about a dozen memorials shared as the group walked west from the intersection.  Photos and a short article were submitted to the Sidewalk.  Nancy removed the ribbons a couple of weeks later. 

Urbandale median: Nancy and Mary Ellen continue to walk the median and pick up trash when weather allows. Nepeta in the intersection beds will need to be pruned when flowers fade in a couple of weeks.

Streetscape:  Ironworks planters now have annuals in them: coleus and other misc trailing plants. Dead streetscape trees that were removed have not been replanted yet. 

Flowers: Nancy weeded beds at 34th and 36th St., took photos of all beds as requested and submitted to the Flower Program.  Order for 2027 will be due in September.

Blue Grass Festival: requesting volunteers

BNA Social: June 3rd at Beaverdale Park was well attended, lots of families, food, games, and music.  No social in July or August because of Blue Grass Festival and National Night Out.

BNA Board Update: Terry reported that the Blue Grass Festival has received grant from Prairie Meadows to help fund Blue Grass Festival

Garden Walk 2027: Nancy received interest from a new gardener about next Garden Walk, currently have 2 confirmed gardens and interest from possibly 4 others, some may be repeats of past Garden Walks.  

Next meeting: July 21st if needed, August 18th potluck at location to be determined.
