| IV. | Vote: Approved | New Board Member – Ryan Russell: Ryan was approved as a new board member. We could not vote on Ryan last month (Aug) due to no quorum. | Josh |
| V. | Vote/Discussion: | Treasurer’s Report: -August financials were not available in time for the Sept meeting. Since we did not have a quorum in August, we’ll have to approve July, August and September financials in October. | Jesse |
| VI. | Vote/Discussion: Approved | Traffic Calming Study on 34th St: 34th St residents are requesting a speed bump be considered between Jefferson and Witmer streets. BNA Board needs to submit the request to the city. There is no cost to the board. | Josh |
| VII. | Vote/Discussion: | SSMID Bid and potential impact: SSMID (Self-Supported Municipal Improvement Districts) had a bid for Beaverdale downtown planters and use of electric boxes. Beaverdale received $15K yearly for this. The bid process has changed. Beaverdale SSMID rep would like to submit a request to the city to revert Beaverdale back to handling the planters through Beaverdale Neighborhood Association versus partnering with other DSM city neighborhood committees. Board discussed focusing on the electric boxes in downtown Beaverdale. Board suggested having Beaverdale SSMID rep go back to the city and see if we can get additional bidding on electrical work needed on those boxes. | Josh |
| VIII. | Presentation: | Amendment 1: Kylie provided an overview of this amendment that will be in front of Iowa votes November 3rd. She mentioned why it is important and who is behind the amendment. | Kylie Spies |
| IX. | Report: | Engagement Committee: We have 437 paid members with 19 business members (low). 29 members rejoined in Aug (attributed to new ways of reaching old members). Sept Social – 55 folks showed up at Parlor restaurant. Younger audience at this social. 70-80% of members are using the auto renewal option when signing up online. Next social is Wed October 7th at Acanthus Lodge (4133 Urbandale Ave) | Kevin/Danny |
| X. | Report: | Beautification Committee: Prep in the works for the next Garden Walk. 4 or 5 houses are already on the list. | Terry |
| XI. | Report: | Special Events Committee: Booverdale is set for October 22nd. We again will partner the Holy Trinity Catholic Church. | Josh |
| XII. | Report: | BNA Merch: New shirt styles are available online. New koozies were ordered since we sold all on hand at Beaverdale Bluegrass. Eric is working on consolidating merchandise into one tub for easier transport to events. | Eric |
