BNA Quarterly Meeting

Hannah Garrison has been doing an excellent job putting together Quarterly Meeting agendas. We briefly went over the agenda for Tue 8/11. We needed to move to the 2nd Tue of August due to National Night Out. Below is the overview. There was a question on adding the public survey on Bike Lane presentation from 2nd Quarterly BNA meeting.

  • Dart
    • I have reached out to their team to request someone present on the new bus routes going into effect this summer
  • American Foundation for Suicide Prevention
    • I responded back on their request to present re: their out of Darkness Walk in September
  • Vinyl Cup
    • Unless anyone has concerns I plan to contact Luke 
  • Re-borrowed
    • I wanted to follow up on if the board is ok with Danny Fast presenting on his lending library? If so I can contact him to get on the agenda as well

National Night Out

NNO this year is Tuesday August 4th. The time is 6-8 PM. We have the main business locked in. Those are Price Chopper Grocery, Snookies Ice Cream and Westminster Presbyterian Church.

During the meeting we discussed the following for NNO:

  • Do we need barricades on 41st street this year?
  • Additional vendors
    • Clown/Ballons
    • Beaverdale Nutrition
    • Fareway/VFW
    • NFC

Since this meeting, we have been able to make changes that reduce our liability. Price Choppers has agreed to move everything from their parking lot which eliminates the need to attendees to cross Beaver Ave between Snookies and Price Chopper.  We were able to cancel the permit we had submitted to the city to close 41st street. This saves us money and reduces some volunteer locations.

Additional Item

We touched base on what event could be next to document as we have a task from the BNA Strategic Planning completed in 2025. We need to have all events Special Events are responsible for documented by the end of 2026. Thought was Easter Egg could be next and we would look to Sasha Kamper to help put that document together.

Next Special Events meeting is Wed July 15th from 5:30-6:30. Location TBD.
