Des Moines’ newest member of the city council will meet with neighbors at the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association meeting.

Rob Barron was elected Tuesday, November 4th to the first ward council seat, which covers northwest Des Moines, including Beaverdale.

Barron, a Beaverdale resident, will discuss his priorities once officially sworn in to the council

The 4th quarter member meeting of the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association will also unveil the association’s new strategic plan.

The meeting will be held on Tuesday, November 11th from 7:00 pm-8:00 pm at the Northwest Community Center, 5110 Franklin Avenue. Refreshments will be served at 6:30.

Everyone in Beaverdale is invited to attend to hear updates from the board and various committees. Then, strategic planner Lorin Ditzler will present the new strategic plan to focus BNA work over the next three years. The BNA board hired Ditzler and has been working with her through much of 2025 on priorities for the association and the neighborhood.

The BNA board and committees will also give brief updates on activities and upcoming events.
