Right on cue, as if from a movie, it started snowing in Beaverdale just as the 2025 Holiday Happenings got underway. Only a few brave souls showed up to take advantage of the festivities, as a cold wind whipped the snow down Beaver Avenue.

Santa showed up, with his elf, to read Christmas stories to kids and their parents at Beaverdale Books. That crowd then stopped next door to Beaverdale Confections for free gift bags with sweets inside.

The lighted bike ride was postponed to Saturday, December 13th, due to ice-covered streets.

Wrist bands were on sale outside Vinyl Cup for $5.00, offering discounts on food and drink at area bars and restaurants. The snow held down the crowd, unfortunately.

But Santa showed up at 5:00 pm to help light the holiday tree on the southeast corner of Beaver and Urbandale Avenues. Kids posed with Santa, while sipping on hot chocolate to stay warm on a snowy, chilly night.

Thanks to all the volunteers from the Beaverdale Neighborhood Association for helping plan and set up this year’s Holiday Happenings. The snow was pretty but the cold wind combined with the snow held down the usual crowd. And thanks to all participating businesses.
