Beautification Committee 08/20/24

Attended:  Donisue Rupp, Nancy Dunbar, Donna Fulmore,, Barb Mullins, Jean Swanson, Terry Thielen, John Waters, Toni Hayes, Marion Wissler, Carole Betts, Linda Blair, and guests

Parks:: Toni will submit a proposal to replace annuals with natives in the sign bed at next meeting.

Trees: Eugene and Cork’s trees continue to look OK, will continue to monitor them. Terry will water Eugene’s tree with buckets this year.

Flowers: Parks dept has asked for photos of the beds that were planted in spring. Donisue offered to take photos.

Streetscape: Tom Boesen and son were seen cutting back large weeds in beds in streetscape.

Carving Quest: leftover brochures will be made available at Fall Festival.

Fall Festival: committee is asking for volunteers before, during, and after.  Our committee traditionally helps with Sunday morning cleanup

2025 Garden Walk: confirmed gardens: Laura McFarland -2003 46th St. Amber Siever-3807 Adams potential gardens: Rachel Rolfes-2922 46th St,, KK Veal-45th & Franklin, Grace St. Clair 2510 Kenway,  Angela Lawrence 47th St.  Kelly Jacobs 2208 39th St. Ryan Kolder 2917 48th St, Nancy Dunbar 291 46th St

Other:  Hope to schedule a work day to prune suckers on Urbandale Ave median trees and clean up rain garden at Holland Drive
