The 150-foot tall monopole tower is proposed for land leased from the lodge. It would go near the back of the lodge parking lot. The lot is also near to Christopher's restaurant, Holy Trinity School and the Benzoni law firm.
The application to construct the tower is by TowerCo, a North Carolina company doing work for T-Mobile.

For comparison purposes, the cellphone tower about a half-mile north behind the VFW post near Beaver and Douglas is 170 feet tall. The company says that tower is full with three cellphone carriers and cannot hold any more antennas. The terrain there is 20 feet lower than the proposed site behind Acanthus Lodge.
