Former sports bar demolished

The building that once housed Players Sports Bar and Grill has been demolished to make room for a redesigned intersection at Beaver Avenue and 41st Street.

On Tuesday, February 25th, the building was gone and an end loader was placing the building material into a large semi.

Players closed about a year ago and relocated to 300 Martin Luther King Parkway, south of downtown.

The city purchased the property to make way for a intersection redesign that is intended to make it safer.
