If you’ve driven down Hickman Road in Beaverdale recently, you know you’ll be in for a rough ride. The pavement has crumbled in a number of places, causing bumps, cracks and potholes that are hard on vehicles.

The westbound section approaching Merle Hay Road is particularly rough, with winter conditions opening up a number of large potholes. The city has worked to fill the potholes and grind down the bumps but the end result is a rough trip.

The good news is that the road will be repaved sometime in 2026.

The section is Hickman between Beaver Avenue and Merle Hay Road is scheduled to be ground down to an even surface, with a new layer of asphalt put on top. It’s not a complete repaving, but the resurfacing work is designed to extend the useful life of the road.

The project is scheduled to begin this summer with completion by Fall 2026.
